The Brian Hegarty Memorial Scholarship Fund was set up to remember the late Dr. Brian Hegarty, a teacher at Saint Clare School. Brian was not only an exceptional teacher and coach, he was a mentor to others and a great friend. Brian believed that every child had something to offer and it was his job to help students discover their gifts and talents. Whether it was literature or basketball, Brian was able to connect his teaching to everyday life and make both more important to his students.

Brian knew that Catholic education is a real sacrifice for many families. This fund provides opportunities for students to receive a Catholic education -- a way for everyone, whom Brian affected, to remember Brian and honor his generous spirit.
