Our Mission

Educating generations of students since 1856…

Saint Clare School provides a rigorous curriculum and student-centered instruction in a safe and caring environment.

We, together with parents as primary educators of their children, form learners with strong academic and spiritual foundations to become moral and ethical servant leaders.

Why Choose Saint Clare?

Technology for Education

  • Every student is given an Apple iPad for some degree of their coursework. This promotes digital etiquette that is especially important today. Students learn to email teachers for information or help, utilize the internet for research, and care for their device by properly charging and handling it.

  • In many ways, digital materials and books provide extra features that physical materials can’t. Digital modules and interactive activities engage students in unique ways. Still, each teacher ensures a balance between physical and digital learning. No class relies solely on iPads for instruction or classwork.

Academic Partnerships

  • Saint Clare School is in close proximity with various prestigious high schools and colleges. Students from Santa Clara University, Cristo Rey High School, Archbishop Mitty High School, Bellarmine College Preparatory, and many more will often visit our campus to help with service or tutoring.

  • At the same time, our close proximity to and partnership with Santa Clara University allows us to use college-grade facilities for many of our school events and programs. Our students have had the chance to use Santa Clara’s robotics lab, classrooms, and sports facilities!

A Diverse & Inclusive Community

  • Saint Clare is the proud home of students and families from various parts of Silicon Valley. As such, the same diversity found across the Bay Area can be found here.

  • Families of all backgrounds are welcome, and while religion classes are a part of our curriculum, teachers do not promote any particular affiliation. Also, religious affiliation does not affect admission.

Student & Family Service Commitment

  • Both students and parents are asked to complete a certain number of service hours each school year. Service for students includes helping clean up classrooms, assisting in setting up for school events, and tutoring other students. Parents can complete service hours through smaller activities like lunch duty, or larger commitments like committee work.

  • Our service requirements promote parent involvement in their child’s education, as well as a sense of community among our families. This improves the school experience for both our students and parents!

The Buddy Program

  • Each younger student is partnered with an older student for the year as their “buddy.” Older buddies are meant to be seen as older siblings or role models that the younger students can look up to for advice, assistance, and a friend.

  • This program promotes a sense of and practice with leadership for our older students, and a source of comfort for our younger students.

The Catholic School Advantage

  • Catholic religion classes are a part of our curriculum. For students who are of the Catholic faith, these classes coincide with the Sunday School or Faith Formation classes required for attaining sacraments.

  • For students who are not of the faith, the religion is not promoted. Instead, the classes serve as informative about the moral and ethical teachings of the church, as well as its rich history.
