Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Miss Cox is an alumni of Catholic education. She holds a deep passion for academics, civil rights, and disability equity. Miss Cox believes every student has the potential to bring something unique and special to the world and is committed to helping students develop skills by believing in them as capable individuals.

Miss Cox received her undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University, and is currently seeking a Masters of Arts in Teaching (MAT) from Santa Clara University. Prior to teaching, Miss Cox worked for various local and federal political candidates and campaigns, specializing in fundraising, operations, research, field, and events. Additionally, Cecily successfully won an election to represent her hometown of Texas in the 2020 Electoral College.

In her personal time, Miss.Cox has enjoyed traveling extensively throughout North America, Central America, Europe, Asia, and Africa, focusing on relevant civil and human rights issues. She is also a pianist and pilot, and enjoys documentaries, 90s music, and spending time with her cocker spaniel, Nana. She looks forward to many more exploits, explorations and escapades, and will continue to be a prominent activist for education, equality, and social justice.
